Fremont Police Department Seismic Upgrade
This project involves the seismic retrofit of the
existing Police Department Building while maintaining 24 hours-a-day/7
days-a-week police operations including a 911 Dispatching Center.
The fully occupied, essential facility is being upgraded to earthquake
design standards that have been adopted since the 1994 Northridge
Earthquake. The work includes the installation of state-of-
the-art
buckling-restrained brace frames; upgrades to column and beam
connections by the installation of Kaiser Bolted Brackets and
welded brackets; the selective demolition and repair of interior
finishes and removal and re-installation of the exterior GFRC skin.
The project achieved substantial completion in March of
2012.

"Critical Solutions Inc. (CSI) came to the San Mateo Main Library's $65 million project
highly recommended, and they exceeded our expectations. Ron Johnson and his staff helped
the project save money, stay on schedule, explained construction clearly and kept the
owner's interest well protected. CSI provided project management, on-site monitoring,
conducted meetings, and kept excellent records. They provided oversite to the contractor
in a construction management/general contractor delivery process. The owners wanted a
team to work with the architects and contractors, and CSI was an essential part of a
successful team. They also provided assistance with contract negotiations and
adjudication of disputed costs. The City of San Mateo was so pleased with the pride,
integrity, and problem solving positive actions of CSI; they have hired them again on
a major civic project."
